Protecting Your Loved Ones and Livelihood with Insurance
Life insurance is a key part of a financial plan, whether it is for an individual, a business, or a combination of them both. For all that a person does in life, there should be an adequate amount to cover life’s unexpected twists and turns. Whether you live very simply, or are part of a complex web of family or other working relationships, it is best to consider how much life insurance might be needed to provide for the many things you do. Cheslock Insurance Agency is here to help you navigate what you need.
Choosing Insurance Type and Amount
If you have never purchased life insurance before, it may be best to sit with a fee-for-service financial planner, to first determine your options. Cheslock Insurance is an independent agent for a number of reliable insurance companies, with high marks from the top ratings agencies: AM Best, Duff Phelps, Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s.
Many people choose term life insurance because it is the most basic and generally least expensive form of life insurance for people under 50. Term policies are written for one to ten years, and may be renewable at the end of each term. Also, the premiums increase at the end of each term and can become prohibitively expensive for older individuals. A level term life policy locks the annual premium for up to 30 years.
Non-medical term life insurance is the same thing as normal term insurance, except the process for underwriting is much shorter. Non-medical requires a short application, and the underwriting decision is usually made within minutes. This avoids the hassle of a large application, medical exams, urine samples, and weeks of waiting for decision.
